Animal Crossing, the beloved life-simulation game from the GameCube era, has been ported to the PS Vita. In this post, I will guide you on how to install the game on your PS Vita. This is an open-source native port by Brendonm17, built on the ac-decomp decompilation project — you'll need your own legitimate copy of the original GameCube game.
Animal Crossing Introduction
Animal Crossing Gameplay
Animal Crossing drops you into a village of anthropomorphic animal neighbors, where you fish, catch bugs, decorate your home, and pay off your mortgage at your own pace — there's no fail state, just a cozy, ongoing daily life.
This PS Vita port runs the game's original decompiled code natively, and even upgrades the classic 4:3 presentation to native 16:9 widescreen at the Vita's full 960×544 resolution.
Animal Crossing Storyline
There's no grand plot here — you move into a new village, meet your animal neighbors, and slowly build a life: expanding your house, filling the museum, and taking part in seasonal events throughout the year.
Now on PS Vita, it's a relaxing handheld way to revisit (or discover for the first time) one of the GameCube's most charming games.
Note: This is an open-source native port by Brendonm17 (GitHub), built on the ac-decomp decompilation project — it is not a bundled copy of the game and contains no Nintendo assets. You need your own legitimate copy of Animal Crossing (GameCube, USA) to dump your own ISO, as shown in Part 1 below.

Is this a full copy of the game?
No. This is an open-source port that contains no Nintendo assets — you need your own legitimate GameCube copy of Animal Crossing (USA) to dump your own ISO, as shown in Part 1. The download here only provides the port itself.
Known issues
This is still an alpha release — ocean and weather scenes may drop frames on the GPU, the train interior shows small black gaps at the edges in widescreen (the original model was built for 4:3), and HD texture packs can have minor alpha/bounds issues.
