Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PS Vita Port | Setup Guide

PAC

Battlefield: Bad Company 2, one of the most popular mobile shooters from Digital Legends Entertainment, now has a fan-made wrapper/port for the PS Vita. In this post, I will guide you on how to install it on your PS Vita. This is not a full native port — it's an open-source wrapper created by TheOfficialFloW that loads the official Android version of the game. You will need to obtain the official Android app files yourself from a legitimate source (such as the Amazon Appstore), and I strongly recommend purchasing the game there to support the original developers.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Introduction

Gameplay

This is the mobile edition of Bad Company 2 — a simplified, Modern Combat-style FPS rather than a copy of the PC/console version, with a single-player campaign set in a modern warfare setting.

The Vita wrapper loads the official Android ARMv6 executable directly and patches its native calls so it runs on Vita hardware, similar in concept to the same developer's earlier Bully wrapper.

Note: This is a wrapper, not a data-included port. You must own a legitimate copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Android edition) to extract the required game files yourself. This post and the download links below only provide the open-source loader, not the game's data.

Part 1 - Patch Your Own Game Data

How to prepare the data folder (own a copy first)

1. Locate the official .apk file and .obb file from your own copy of the game (the .obb is usually found in /sdcard/android/obb/bc2/ on the Android device; use a tool like APK Extractor to pull the .apk if needed).

2. Rename both files to .zip (e.g. battlefield_bad_company_2.apkbattlefield_bad_company_2.zip, same for the .obb file).

3. Open the renamed .obb → .zip and extract the bc2 folder from inside it.

4. Open the renamed .apk → .zip using 7-Zip or WinRAR, go to lib/armeabi, and extract libbc2.so.

5. Move libbc2.so into the bc2 folder you extracted in step 3, so the game code sits alongside its data.

6. You now have a complete bc2 folder — this is the data you'll copy to your Vita in Part 2.

Part 2 - Install on PS Vita

How to install on your Vita

1. Install kubridge and FdFix by copying kubridge.skprx and fd_fix.skprx to your taiHEN plugins folder (usually ur0:tai) and add two entries under *KERNEL in config.txt: ur0:tai/kubridge.skprx and ur0:tai/fd_fix.skprx. (Skip fd_fix if you're using the repatch plugin.)

2. (Optional) Install PSVshell to overclock your device to 500MHz for smoother performance.

3. Install libshacccg.suprx if you don't already have it.

4. Copy the bc2 folder from Part 1 to ux0:data on your Vita.

5. Install BC2.vpk (the open-source loader) on your Vita.

6. Launch the game.

Is this the real Bad Company 2 (PC/console version)?

No. This is a wrapper around the Android/mobile edition (made by Digital Legends Entertainment), which is a simpler shooter than the PC/console game. It runs on Vita by loading and patching the official Android executable.

Where do I get the game data?

You need to obtain the Android .apk and .obb files from your own legitimate copy of the game (e.g. via the Amazon Appstore) and extract them yourself as shown in the installation steps. This blog and its Discord/Telegram only provide the open-source loader, not the game data.

Known issues (v1.0)

Some users have reported random crashes, glitchy enemy models, and controls occasionally disappearing on the initial v1.0 release. Overclocking with PSVshell may help performance but won't fix all bugs.
